Hepcats Copenhagen is excited to invite you to participate in 1, 2 or 3 two-hour Sunday classes, taking place just before Sunday Swing kicks off. Classes are taught by some of the most experienced dancers in Copenhagen, and targets everyone with a solid basic in place - it’s a great opportunity to try different teachers and expand your dance vocabulary.

- 15.9 - Mama's Stew - A cool jazz routine (Benedikte & Lars) - Intermediate & Up
- 22.9 - 20th Charleston - variations suited for faster music (Hanna & Sune) - Intermediate & up
- 29.9 - LindyHop Surprise - Intermediate & up
Practical info
Classes take place just before Sunday Swing
- Where: Kulturhuset Indre By, Salen
- When: Above Sundays, from 1-3 pm
- Who: All swing dancers in CPH area, with 3 rounds, corresponding to approx 3+ months of active dancing experience at any CPH dance community.

- Price: You can sign up for all 3 classes at DKK 300, or choose individual classes at DKK/each 125.
- Membership: If you don't have one, you'll also need a Membership for Autumn 2024. It’s 60 DKK only.

Can I join the classes?
These classes target dancers with a solid 8-count LindyHop & Charleston basic, presumably 3+ rounds of active dancing, enabling you to follow Intermediate level classes or higher at Hepcats, Swingshoes or Happy Feet.
Not a Hepcats dancer? No problem! Write in your comments where and how long you have been dancing
Class descriptions
The Autumn Sessions are taught by some of the most experienced teachers in Copenhagen. Two of these sessions are taught by teachers with more than 20 years of dancing experience, dating back from the early days of Hepcats Copenhagen.
15.9 - Mamas Stew (Lars & Benedikte)
In this class we'll be working on the Solo Jazz routine "Mama's Stew", made famous by Mama Lou Parks and her dancers.
It's relatively short, fun, fast and energetic and with roots straight back to Harlem and the original Lindy Hoppers.
Requirements: You've tried the Shim Sham and know (Lindy) Charleston. We expect you to have done a couple of rounds of classes at Hepcats, SwingShoes, Happy Feet or similar (experience corresponding to 1 season of dancing / 15+ weekly classes)
22.9 - Charleston Fun
In this class we'll be working on fast'n'fun Charleston variations and trying to tie them together in a small routine. Some variations will be inspired by variations seen performed at global competitions.
Requirements: You know your basic Charleston - we'll take care of the rest. We expect you to have done a couple of rounds of classes at Hepcats, SwingShoes, Happy Feet or similar (experience corresponding to 1 season of dancing / 15+ weekly classes)
29.9 - LindyHop SURPRISE (To Be Announced)
The content of this class has not yet been finalised, but it will be partner dancing with a focus on Lindy Hop. We'll come back on this one, but one thing is certain - it's gonna be fun :D
Requirements: We expect you to have done a couple of rounds of classes at Hepcats, SwingShoes, Happy Feet or similar (experience corresponding to 1 season of dancing / 15+ weekly classes)

Who Should Attend:
The Autumn Sessions are for dancers who has done a full season of dancing at Hepcats, Happy Feet, SwingShoes or another swing dance community:
- INTERMEDIATE dancers aiming to refine their technique and add polish to their dance (second round Beginnners Intermediate dancers at Hepcats also welcome)
- EXPERIENCED / ADVANCED dancers seeking to revisit and create awareness around the basics and create a stronger overall dance.
