Hepcats Summer Classes – June 2024

Summer is almost here, and this weeks class is the last class of the round and you are invited to join us TONIGHT @ Idrætsfabrikken for SOCIALS with free drinks following class ending 21.30. But despair not – SUMMER THEME CLASSES ARE HERE, starting Thursday the 13th of June. Register at https://hepcats.dk/classes-2/
We offer two different Summer Class tracks starting Thursday the 13th of June:
* Beginner Booster – a class for those who have completed Beginners or one round of Beginners-Intermediate .. or feel very rusty!
* Jazz, Lindy, Charleston – A class for those who are ready for Intermediate and Up
Following class we have social dancing from 21-late
Also, we have included info about “Sommerdans i Fælledparken”, where Hepcats will be teaching and DJ’ing on July 1st.

Hepcats – Summer Classes – Starting 13th of June

 
There’s 2 LindyHop levels (incl. Charleston & Solo-jazz warmup) to choose from, followed by social dancing at 9 p.m.

Summer Class – Beginner Booster (2 classes) – with Hanna & Sune

  • A class for those who have completed a round of beginners classes and perhaps also a round of Beginners—Intermediate. Or for dancers feeling very rusty. We will be polishing our Swingouts, do fun & simple swingout variations and perhaps
    * When: Thursday 13.6 & 20.6, 19-21 (2×2 hours)
    * Where: Idrætsfabrikken, 1st floor
    * Price: 200 DKK
    Requires 6+ weeks of dancing experience (equalling at least one round of classes).

Summer Class – Jazz, Lindy, Charleston (3 classes – for Intermediate and up)

  • Three classes, Three sets of teachers:
    * 13.6: Lindy-and-Jazz Routine “Stops” (Benedikte & Lars)
    * 20.6: Hot’n’Cool LindyHop variations – turning basic steps awesome (Madison & Nhat)
    * 27.6: Charleston-Charleston-Charleston Routine (Rikke & Jacob)
    And
    * When: Thursday 13.6, 20.6 & 27.6, 19-21 (3×2 hours)
    * Where: Idrætsfabrikken, Værkstedet
    * Price: 300 DKK
    Requires 18+ weeks of dancing experience (equalling at least 3 rounds of classes)

Hepcats – Sommerdans i Fælledparken (outdoor) – July 1st

Copenhagen Municipality (Københavns Kommune) is hosting a free intro to “this-cool-thing-called-swing” at Dansepladsen in Fælledparken on the 1st of July. Teachers and DJ’s are Hanna & Sune. Join us and bring your friends. Free class 19-20, followed by DJ’ing 20-22.
Note that Sommerdans is not only this one evening. There’s dancing at Dansepladsen from late June well into July, including additional Swing Dance events later in july

Hepcats – Sunday Swing

Sunday Swing is back!. Keep an eye on the Hepcat facebook groups and join us at Kulturhuset Indre By from 3 – 6 pm once it starts. Some Sundays we have a free intro to LindyHop – bring your friends along! Next free taster is on 14th of January (see below)
As we have booked the facilities as a community, Kulturhuset Indre By has emphasised that participants in Sunday swing should be active members of the Hepcats community.
